Doesn't help the end goal of this is new legendaries to bring back to the game to use on content people have already played through.
#PSN BORDERLANDS 2 SEASON PASS MOD#
Something BL2 for the most part understood, with this mod who you play as is irrelevant. Borderlands like any other loot based game like diablo, the main goal is to use loot and skills to make a build to shred through whatever the game throws at you. Those usually have a few weapons with random room, layouts, and artifacts with certain synergys to try and make it through the end. People will probably put the new content down, not because it's a bad concept, but because it was very badly executed. If gearbox did some actual balancing and quality of life improvements they wouldn't need to release a game mode, I wager will last a week before people put it down. The issue is unlike the first few games legendaries don't feel as impactful, heck most epic level gear is worthless at mayhem 10. I agree that the Mayhem modes are broken, but at least they can be scaled up and down, unlike the atrocious UVHM from BL2. It breaks you out of your shell of using the same handful of guns you've relied on for the past 80 hours. A game mode that has you constantly needing to use new gear keeps the looting aspect alive. Guess what happens once you find the ideal loot in Borderlands though? You keep shooting but you pretty much stop looting. You are not right in that the mode is polar opposite. You are right in that Borderlands is a looter shooter.
#PSN BORDERLANDS 2 SEASON PASS FULL#
Not quite and I can speak from my own few hundred hour experience with full maxed characters since my Epic playtime. It's ugly step child of a Battle Royal and Rogue-like that no one wanted, implemented quite poorly. except this is a borderlands game, a looter shooter this game mode is polar opposite of what a looter shooter is. Maybe you'll hold onto a green or white rarity because it looks or sounds cool or handles a way you like or something. So, a mode that strips you away of your comfort gear and makes you use tons of different weapons is actually a good thing. Part of what causes B元 to get stale for me (besides the lack of a server browser, despite enemy level and loot being instanced per-player) is that it is very easy for me to stick with my preferred guns, never using anything else. That said, I think they were onto something.
